Maisna Heritage's Principal Consultant, Fiona Deaton, was appointed as a judge on the jury panel for the RIBA West Midlands Regional Architectural Awards 2015. Following the success of Astley Castle in 2013 and the Library of Birmingham in 2014, the Awards have become the benchmark in identifying the best new architecture in the West Midlands. The top award went to Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios for their sympathetic conservation work at the Grade II* Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. This scheme was put forward for the national awards, from which the 2015 Stirling Prize is ultimately chosen.
Maisna Heritage was appointed by SAVE Britain's Heritage to compile a Heritage Statement and Significance Appraisal on the Welsh Streets in Liverpool. The Heritage Statement was submitted as supporting evidence on behalf of SAVE's case at the Public Inquiry in June 2014. SAVE's heritage arguments were upheld by the Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles, in his decision of January 2015 to refuse permission to demolish the streets.
